I have dedicated more than half my life to British History, it is one of my biggest passions, and to be a part of an exciting new festival to be able to provide the elements that might spark someone else’s passion and to help preserve the relationship that has been built for future generations is something that I am immensely proud of. Little did I know when I stepped off that plane in Africa just over 2 years ago how much my life would change.

“Africa changes you forever, like nowhere on earth. Once you have been there, you will never be the same. But how do you begin to describe its magic to someone who has never felt it? How can you explain the fascination of this vast, dusty continent, whose oldest roads are elephant paths? Could it be because Africa is the place of all our beginnings, the cradle of mankind, where our species first stood upright on the savanna of long ago? – Brian Jackson (March 2016 – British Journalist)

Tim Rose – British Contingent

I have spent most of my life immersed in Victorian military history and I am a co-founder and events organiser of the Diehard Company, Victorian Military Society – an internationally known leader of its type formed in 1993. I have run the events side of the group within the UK and abroad for over 4 decades and I have worked with major national sponsors in the UK and Governments abroad from within Europe, Russia, Canada, Ukraine, and Malta. I have been the point of contact for numerous trips to South Africa and for events with the Zulu nation in the UK and have worked with both film and television productions around the world. I have written extensively about reenactment and history for a variety of magazines specialising in the Victorian and Zulu periods.

I have been re-enacting the Victorian period for nearly twenty years, running The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment Re-enactment Society, an experienced society unique in portraying both the regular and volunteer soldiers of the late Victorian army. Over that time Tim and I have worked closely together and the relationship between our groups has grown ever stronger. We are delighted to have formed A Company, 24th Foot, and the Victorian Association alongside him in 2017, and to have participated in the events leading up to the 140th anniversary trip to South Africa in 2019 and the reciprocal events in the United Kingdom later that year.

I would describe myself as a self-motivated and hard-working individual.

Working with people and motivating them is my true passion. Empowering a team with knowledge and guiding them provides me with enormous gratification.

At Educom I have the unique privilege in all of the above mentioned. I work very closely with schools and provide them with guidelines for general school policies. I am also responsible for designing signs for schools.

Some of my latest projects with the schools include hands-on learning opportunities for students, while increasing environmental awareness; I decided to introduce a veggie garden. I also highlighted the importance of recycling and why we should contribute to it.

As a public motivator, I am always looking for ways to uplift society and introduce ways to contribute to the betterment of our environment.
